If load gif images(too large or too many) which need animation into one palette, since Firefox had the bug to discard the animated images memory properly, so that eventually all the available memories will be consumed for animated images which would finally cause Notes crash, this is a third party bug, Firefox had already filed releated bugs but without any fixes(references as below). I have also tested in Sametime Standalone 8.5.1( with XULRunner  1.9.1.3) and Notes 8.5.3 (with XULRunner 1.9.2.10), Notes 9.0.1GA(with XULRunner 10.0.6) and latest Firefox Version V28.0, all of them have the same issue.. so this is not a regression. From Embedded Browser perspective, we could not fix this issue until Firefox had fixed it,  since Firefox had worked as this way for many releases, it designed to load all decoded images into memory without find a proper way to discard them.

So the suggestion will still be as below:

 1) please do not use large animation pictures;                         
 2) split pictures in multiple palettes

Auch wenn es schon alt ist, habe ich diese Probleme jetzt seit neuestem auch.
Der einzige Unterschied zu vorher ist, das ich jetzt den aktuellen Sametime Embedded 9 verwende,
vorher den aus dem 9.0.1 Standard Client, mit dem es keine Probleme gab.

Ich habe 3! animierte gifs mit einer Größe von insgesamt 60KB!.
Es kommt dann wie schon beschrieben dazu, das im ChatFenster die Antworten nicht mehr lesbar sind und dann
stürzt der Notes Client kurze Zeit später ab, teilweise auch ohne einen NSD. Es passiert aber nicht permanent.

Wegen Windows 10 muss ja der Sametime Embedded Client auf 9 angehoben werden, damit die Kompatibilität gegeben ist,
ätzend ist es aber in jedem Fall, wenn der Client auf einmal einfach geschlossen ist.

Ich glaube wir hatten auch mal so ein Problem vor 1-2 Jahren. Damals hat ein Update auf den aktuellsten Grafikkartentreiber geholfen.
