Hi again!

Once again I have a problem with Lotus Notes, that i'm not able to solve by myself.
(I don't even know if it is possible to solve it).

I recive an attachement, and then I choose to Save the attachment. Since I want to save it on F:\myfiles, i've made a shortcut on the desktop. So when I click on the desktop, I automaticly get to the catalog F:\myfiles.
This works in all other programs but Notes.
Here I get an error message:
Mylink.link already exists; overwrite it.
If I choose yes, it overwrites my link. If I choose no, nothing happens.

Is there a way to solve this?

Oh well, unfortunately I know about this issue and I think this is caused by the internal file browser of N/D.

Additionally, I often miss these links to common folders in the open/save file dialog box -- such as Desktop, My Files, etc. which are listed on the left side in many other apps' file dialogs, which obviously use newer WinApi functions for this dialog box.

So far, I do not know a solution since we cannot replace this file save dialog box with another one just by Notes.ini flag or something like that.

Well, I only can think of a coded solution, using WinAPI. You could add a new button ("detach attachments") to your database views / forms, and there you provide the Windows XP file dialog box to select a folder for detaching....

Thanks for the answer. No easy solution then I guess..
The strange thing is that this worked in Windows 2000, but when I upgraded the computer to XP, it stoped working.

Well, if anyone else has a solution or workaround for this, please post it.
