Q. Do Customers have to use Domino as their e-mail system to use Domino Utility Server?
A. Not at all. In fact, Utility Server specifically breaks the requirement. Like Sametime, QuickPlace,
Discover Server, and other IBM Lotus offerings, Utility Server is equally valuable for customers who don’t
use Domino for e-mail as for those who do. In the client-server pricing model, Domino is more
appropriately viewed as an infrastructure purchase. With its CAL-free pricing model, Utility Server offers
Domino in a way that supports ad-hoc or opportunistic solutions, irrespective of the e-mail infrastructure
environment.
