Ich halte IM innerhalb von Unternehmen für
a) wenig benutzt und
b) ist Sametimes zu kompliziert und teuer. Über MS Netmeeting kenne ich mich nicht so aus.

Benutzt das irgendeine Firma da draußen, das Jabber?
 
Es gibt verschiedene Optionen (mein evtl fehlerhafter quickcheck):
- Öffentlicher Server --> halte ich für untragbares Risiko Instant Messaging Verkehr innerhalb einer Firma über einen öffentlichen Server laufen zu laßen.
- interner Server: gibt es nur genau 1 Freeware Projekt. Der Rest kostet Geld. Hab nicht gecheckt wie teuer.
- clients dürften umsonst sein.  
- gibt es irgendwelche Whitepapers oder verwandtes zur Sicherheit. Ich meine, wenn man das von außen ansprechbar macht (etwa für AußendienstMAs) geht ein Aufruf auf einen internen Firmenserver über Port 80 (das Phänomen, daß für webservices like Zeugs traditionelle Firewalls nicht mehr greifen).

Mir jetzt allerdings nicht ganz klar, ob IM nur besser integriert ist und am trotzdem noch Sametime kaufen muß, oder IM schon komplett dabei ist. Ich habe mir die 6.5 Beta noch nicht angesehen.
