Error: "Can't Determine Type" When Attempting to View Attachments in iNotes Web Access
Problem:
You have upgraded to Domino 5.0.11 and converted some mail users to iNotes Web Access and also created new mail users using the iNotes template. Using Microsoft Internet Explorer to access iNotes Web Access, users attempt to open attachments in mail received from other Notes users, however, the following error displays:
Can't determine type.
Opening the iNotes Mail file through the Notes Client allows the attachment's to work correctly.
Solution:
This issue can be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the browser..
In some cases, the file name was changed and the browser was unable to open or interpret the file extension. In these cases, if the user downloads the file, and then specifies the application with which to launch the file, then the file displays without issue.
