Unable To Replicate if LocalDomainServers is "Servers Only" in NAB and "Server Group" in ACL
Product:   Lotus Notes  >  Lotus Notes  >  Version 5.x
Platform(s):   Platform Independent
Date:   31.08.2001

This document is based on the following Software Problem Report (SPR):

Problem
You are unable to replicate a database from one server to another server if the database has LocalDomainServers with a type set to "Server Only."  This issue occurs intermittently.  You have found that changing LocalDomainServers to a type of "Multipurpose Group" resolves the replication problem.

The following steps can be used to reproduce this issue:

1. In the Domain Directory (NAMES.NSF), make sure that LocalDomainServers is set to a Group Type of "Servers Only."
2. Create a database on an R5 server (release 5.0.2b was used in this case).  The Access Control List (ACL) should have the Default set to "No access" and LocalDomainServers should have Manager access, with a User Type of "Server Group."
3. Create a replica of the database on another R5.0.2b server and give the same access to LocalDomainServers.
4. Attempting to replicate these databases results in the error:   "Unable to replicate database."

Solution
This issue has been reported to Lotus Quality Engineering.  To work around this issue, do the following:

1. In the Domain Directory, change the LocalDomainServers Group Type from "Servers Only" to "Multipurpose Group."
2. In the database ACL, change LocalDomainServers User Type from "Server Group" to "Mixed Group."

Supporting Information:

NOTES:

This issue was reproduced during initial testing.
This issue could not be reproduced by Lotus Quality Engineering or during final testing, when servers were reinstalled and reconfigured with Notes 5.0.2b and the test was performed on a new database.
LocalDomainServers is initially a Group of Type "Multi-Purpose" in the Public Address Book.
Changing the Group Type to anything else may result in unexpected behavior.
LocalDomainServers can be used for access control if it is of Type "Multi-Purpose."
LocalDomainServers cannot be used as the replication destination in a Server Connection document because its Type is "Multi-Purpose."
Do not change the Group Type of LocalDomainServers.  Doing so could result in unexpected behavior.

Semeaphoros:

replicate LTXXX300/XYZ/DE <pfad>\dateiname.nsf

Kutz:
sorry, war ne Woche auf Seminar,

aber das Problem besteht immer noch.

die manuelle Repl funzt.

 replicate ltxxx300 intern\beraterhb2.nsf
> 31.01.2005 12:10:40   Database Replicator started
> 31.01.2005 12:10:42   Starting replication with server ltxxx300
> 31.01.2005 12:10:43   Pulling intern\beraterhb2.nsf from ltxxx300
intern\beraterhb2.nsf
> 31.01.2005 12:10:46   Pushing intern\beraterhb2.nsf to ltxxx300
intern\beraterhb2.nsf
> 31.01.2005 12:10:46   Finished replication with server ltxxx300

Und nu ?
