Webkennwort
« am: 28.07.04 - 16:23:56 »
Hallo,

Title:
How to Synchronize Notes and Internet Password with Policy Documents in Notes Domino 6
Product:   Lotus Domino  >  Lotus Domino Server  >  6.x
Platform(s):   Platform Independent
Date:   03.12.2003
Doc Number:   1110671

Problem
Users would like to use the same password to log into both Notes and the Internet.  How do you implement an organizational or explicit policy to synchronize users' Internet password with their Notes password?

Perform the following steps:
Create a Security Settings document.  This is done via the Administration client by selecting the 'Settings' view from the People & Groups tab.  You then click on the 'Add Settings...' button and choosing 'Security' from the menu options.
In the "Password Management" tab, choose Yes in the field "Update Internet Password When Notes Client Password Changes."
Save and close the document.
Create a master policy document - Explicit (for testing purposes). Organizational, if you want the policy to apply to all users.   This is done via the Administration client by selecting the 'Policies' view from the People & Groups tab.
In the master policy document, for the security type: select the security settings document you created in Step 1.
Save and close the document.

For Explicit policies, continue with steps below:

In the administrator client, go to the People & Groups tab > People view.
Select the user you want to assign the policy to.
In the People Tools on the right, choose Assign Policy... and select a policy in the 'Policy' drop down menu.  Click 'OK'.
This will fill in the "Assigned policy" field on the Administration tab in the user's person document with the name of the master policy document.
Update the views for the names.nsf, replicate the names.nsf to the users' mail server, and update the views on the names.nsf on that server.
Using a test user that you have assigned the policy to, log into the server and open up a few databases on the server. (The server may need some time to authenticate the user and recognize that the user has a policy document assigned to him.)
Close out of the client and log back in. Under File->Security -> User Security->Security Basics,  you should see "Always Set Domino web/Internet password to match Notes password (reduces security)" checked.
Change the user's password. This will generate a "Change HTTP password in Domino Directory"  request in the admin4.nsf on the user's mail server.
If the user's mail server is not the Administration server for the names.nsf, you will need to replicate the Admin4.nsf from the user's mail server to the Administration server and run 'tell adminp process all' on the Administration server or wait for AdminP to process the request. AdminP should process this request immediately and update the user's Internet password in the user's Person document. Then replicate the changes in the names.nsf back to the mail server.
