Performanceproblem W2k03 - Domino 6.03

Speichernutzung liegt im Moment bei 1,43 GB. Also noch absolut im Rahmen. Die Maschine hat immerhin 3,5 GB + 1GB Ausfallsicherheit.

Der Server in der DMZ hat auch zwei CPUs, allerdings nur 2 GB RAM. Hyper Threading war dort noch nie aktiviert. Ansonsten sind die Maschinen fast identisch.

Der Server läuft mindestens 1x am Tag auf 100 % und rührt sich dann kaum noch.

Der Server lässt sich mit quit beenden bis auf den nserver selbst. Dieser ist auch mit Zapnotes nicht beendbar.

Hat irgend wer einen Lösungsansatz parat?

Das es mit HT zusammenhängt glaube ich nicht. Ich habe bei uns hier eine 2x Prozessormaschine mit 2x 2,4GHz XEON unter Windows 2000 als Dominoserver laufen und die Kiste läuft astrein (DELL Poweredge 2650) mit aktiviertem HT. Letzter Reboot war im April 2004....

In der Firmengruppe rennt ein ähnlicher Server unter Win2k3 und der läuft auch astrein. Ich vermute eher ein Problem mit einem Drittanwenderprogramm auf dem Dominoserver. Was läuft denn dort noch alles an Zeugs wie Virenscanner oder sonstigem....

(wollte ich nur mal so gesagt haben, das Problem beschert mir nämlich schon seit Monaten schlaflose Nächte...)

Hey... am 17.08. ist ein neuer Eintrag in die KB gelangt... endlich ist das Problem offiziell.
Vielleicht kriegen wir ja endlich ne Lösung...

Problem
Your Domino 6.x server gets to a point where it is unresponsive, and attempts to shut down the server appear normal, as the console displays each task shutting down.  This is also captured in the console log, if enabled.  However, if you look at the Task Manager, Processes tab, and sort the Image Name column, you see many Domino server tasks still running, and the memory usage of these tasks is quite high.
Attempts to run NSD yield nothing of value because it thinks the server has shut down all its processes.  The NSD is empty.

Solution
This issue has been reported to Lotus software Quality Engineering.
The only apparent workaround would be to restart the Domino server on a daily basis before the allocated memory builds up.  This will relinquish the memory that each process has consumed and, as a result, will reduce the amount of time it takes for the Domino server to shut down.
Note:  This workaround is obviously an inconvenient one and should be used at the customer's discretion.

Da hast Du allerdings recht... - hab ich damals überlesen. Was interessant ist das MasterTom das Problem mit einer Win2k Maschine hat. Ich tippe immer noch auf ein Drittanbieterprodukt auf der Maschine. Da aber keiner der "Frager" hier genau auflistet welche Drittanbieterprodukte auf seiner Maschine laufen dürfte die Forumshilfe hier nicht möglich sein...
