Using Domino Designer with Domino Express
« Antwort #5 am: 15.10.09 - 16:45:18 »
Hier eine Aussage von Ed Brill zum Thema "kostenloser" Designer Client ab 8.5.1:

Zitat
In both the old and new model, that means that a developer accessing a Domino Collaboration Express server from Domino Designer needed to buy something else.  In the old model, that was a license of Domino Designer -- yes, on top of their Domino Collaboration Express license.  In the new model, that is a Domino Enterprise CAL -- yes, on top of their Domino Collaboration Express license.

Zitat
Update: As prompted by the comments, if the Domino Collaboration Express customer has one or more licenses of Domino Designer already, and is under maintenance/S&S for that/those license(s), the Designer licenses will be converted to Domino Enterprise CALs in February, 2010.  There is no need to purchase yet anything additional other than staying on maintenance for those Designer licenses.

http://connections.euluc.com/blogs/lotusgermany/entry/domino_designer_details?lang=de

Zitat
...

"Domino Enterprise CAL " umgestellt

E07UMLL)

...

Antwort #5 von Ed Brill:

Zitat
The price of an Enterprise CAL is US$159, versus $864 for Domino Designer. Obviously, the Enterprise CAL includes the right to use Notes, iNotes, Traveler, and the client side of Lotus Mobile Connect.

Ab heute - 09.02.2010 - gilt ein neues Lizenzmodell:

Ed Brill: New Domino CAL pricing is fully in effect as of today

Zitat
And gloriously, a whole bunch of confusion has disappeared from the IBM software price book. :-)
Zitat
Domino Designer became a free/entitled product -- free to download and test, entitled in the Domino CAL to connect to Domino.

Zitat
Lotus Domino Designer software is freely available to all developers. Each developer who will build and deploy applications with Lotus Domino Designer software in a Lotus Domino or Lotus Domino Express environment must have a Lotus Domino Enterprise CAL. Existing Lotus Domino Designer customers will be converted to this new offering at Software Subscription and Support renewal.

hallo Andreas,

1.
Zitat
The change comes at a cost, but it's a pretty small one.
... As such, the price of Domino Collaboration Express will increase by 10%

2. Viele Kommentatoren hätten statt dem Clustering viel lieber DA
Zitat
...s a big deal for SMBs, but Directory Assistance is probably more important for my customers

New license terms in Notes/Domino 8.5.3, including changes to Domino Express

Zitat
Since that is hard to track and audit, in Domino Collaboration Express and Domino Messaging Express 8.5.3, we have changed the eligibility metric to a technical restriction, of no more than 1000 users per Domino domain. This means that any size organization can purchase Domino Messaging/Collaboration Express, as long as they factor their deployments into Domino domains of 1000 or less.
...
For Utility Express, thus, the restriction is still based on 1000 or fewer employees in the buyer's organization.
