How To Change the Password on a Certifier ID
Problem:
A customer would like to switch to the CERT.ID to change the password. Attempting to switch to that ID results in an error "Illegal Use of Certifier ID". Is there any way to change that password?
Solution:
Any type of Notes ID can be examined using the Administration Panel window. You can change the CERT.ID password here, as well.
1. [For Notes 4.x] Select File, Tools, Server Administration.
[For Domino 5.x] Select Configuration tab and under the Tool menu, open the Certification twistie.
2. [For Notes 4.x] Select Administration, ID File from the top menu.
[For Domino 5.x] Select ID Properties from the menu.
3. Open the ID file to examine.
4. The information for this certifier will appear. On the Basics tab, select "Set Password."
5. You will be prompted for a new password and, once again, to confirm the new password.
6. After the change is made, select Done.
The CERT.ID will now have the new password you have designated.
