Problem
When running fixup without the -j switch on any databases that are transactionally logged on a Notes/Domino 6.0 or 6.0.1 server, you receive the following error on the server console:
Recovery Manager: "Preserving backups by skipping fixup of logged DB without -j switch, DB=c:\data\dbname.nsf"
This is inconsistent with the behavior in R5.x, in which fixup will run on a transactionally logged database. Why does this occur?
Solution
A change was added in R6.x to prevent taking a database off-line for fixup, unless the fixup logged db option (-j) was also passed in. However, this prevents taking a logged database off-line for any reason.
This issue was reported to Lotus software Quality Engineering and has been addressed in Domino 6.0.2.
