"Error Full Text Indexing DATABASE NAME: Full Text Error - Failure to Init KV Filter"
Problem:
In Domino 5.0.3, you attempt to full text search a database(s), but the search fails with one of the following errors:
"HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - Full Text Error - failure to init KV filter"
OR
"Error full text indexing DATABASE NAME: Full Text Error - failure to init KV filter"
Solution:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering; however, currently there are no plans to address it.
Deleting and recreating the full text index does not resolve the problem. It has been found that the full text indexer needs access to the .DLL's used by the file viewer component of the Notes client. To work around the issue, copy all the K*.* files from the client install into the server's Program Directory.
Another instance in which users may receive this error message is when the workstation install is done incorrectly; specifically, not all K*.* files are in the Notes directory. In this case, determine whether all users are experiencing the issue or whether it is just some users. If it is some users, compare their K*.* files and determine if the problem user is missing any files. Copy the files from the good machine over to the problem machine. You can also determine how many files users should have in their Notes directory based on what version of Notes is being used.
One customer also reported receiving the above error on a Solaris server with a Win NT 4 Administration client. The Domino server was installed in: opt/lotus/notes/latest/sunspar. In this case, there was a reference to the LSX ODBC.SO file that was incorrectly set for the LD_Library_Path. The customer resolved the issue by recovering the .SO file(s) from a backup and recycling the Domino server.
