hallo,
auf meinem server läuft die catalog task nicht. ich bekomme immer folgende fehlermeldung:
Unable to replace obsolete catalog: The name is not in the list.
ist aber auf dem richtigen server konfiguriert.
was läuft denn da falsch?

- läuft der catalog Task ?
- ist im server dok in -> Server Task -> Directory Cataloger auf enable gesetzt?
oder versuchs manuell an der server console

ich hatte es ja an der konsole probiert:
Unable to replace obsolete catalog: The name is not in the list
verzeichniscatalog ist im server dokument aktiviert, ist aber was anderes. es gäbe noch den domänenkatalog im server dok. aber das ist doch auch nicht das richtige, oder? der wäre nämlich deaktiviert.

hast du einen Namen für die catalog db im server dok angegeben ?
- die catalog.ntf muss im server Pfad liegen dann erstellt der Task eine neue catalog.nsf
- den Katalog möchtest du nur für einen server, richtig ?, dann muss der Domänenkatalog nicht aktiviert werden.
- nach deiner Meldung an der console lässt sich schliessen das es eine catalog.nsf schon gibt !! ähmmm.. ich würde die mal löschen...

also, domänenkatalog brauche ich nicht, dann werde ich den wieder deaktivieren.
aber wo muss ich denn einen namen für die catalog db im server dok angeben?
ja klar gibt es schon eine catalog.nsf. die wurde auch mal jede nacht durch den catalog task befüllt. nun leider nicht mehr und ich weiss nicht warum.

- kann es sein das ihr mal upgedatet habt und seitdem der cataloger nicht mehr läuft ?
- ich würde die catalog.nsf mal wegkopieren und dann den task starten

@performance: ja, wir haben mal ein update gemacht.
kann ich die catalog.nsf auch im laufenden betrieb wegkopieren ?
und wo muss denn nun ein eintrag in serverdok für die catalog task gemacht werden?

ja - catalog.nsf kann wegkopiert werden
Serverdokument -> Server Tasks -> Directory Cataloger

nein, der directory catalog ist aber etwas anderes. der läuft bei uns richtig, aber befüllt die dc.nsf (dircat).
ich will aber die catalog.nsf befüllen.

da kannst du den Server angeben auf welchem gesucht werden soll

okay, domain catalog. habe ich nun mal aktiviert (war auf deaktiviert) und den server neu gestartet. werde also mal sehen ob heute nacht die catalog task läuft. mich juckts ja in den fingern das mal händisch an der console zu versuchen, aber wer weiss wie das teil die perfprmance in den keller zieht ;D

Hmm, der "load catalog" sollte aber auch funktionieren, wenn der Domain Catalog disabled ist ...
Steht der Server mit Namen und als Manager in der ACL?

Vielleicht ist das die Ursache/Lösung (Auszug aus Knowledgebase):
Catalog Task Does Not Work After Deleting the LocalDomainServers Entry from the ACL
Problem:
A Notes/Domino 5.x customer receives the following error after removing the LocalDomainServers or LocalDomainCatalogServers group name from the Access Control List (ACL) of the CATALOG.NSF database:
"Unable to replace obsolete catalog: The name is not in the list."
Steps to reproduce this issue:
1. Install a Domino 5.0.2c server.
2. Start the Catalog task: Load catalog on server console. This creates the CATALOG.NSF file.
3. Remove the LocalDomainServers entry from the ACL and make sure the server is listed in another group (for example: MyServers).
4. Start the Catalog task again.
5. Note the error displayed on the server console is: "Unable to replace obsolete catalog: The name is not in the list."
6. Put the LocalDomainServers group back in the ACL.
7. Start the Catalog task and note that it works fine.
The same error message is received after deleting the LocalDomainCatalogServers group from the ACL.
Solution:
This problem was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and determined to be an unsupported configuration. The Catalog task sets these ACL entries to enable proper functionality on the CATALOG.NSF and the Domain Indexing Tasks. You may use your own groups (for example: MyServers), but LocalDomainServers and LocalDomainCatalogServers group names must be in the ACL, even though you may not be using them.

neee, hat alles nix gebracht. sowohl das geplante task catalog sowie das händische absetzen des befehls load catalog führt wie gehabt zu der selben fehlermeldung:
Unable to replace obsolete catalog: The name is not in the list.
noch jemand ne idee ?
