Hallo liebe Kollegen,
mich lässt das einfach noch nicht ganz los.
Wo kann man den genauen Unterschied nachlesen, damit ich meinen Chefs erklären kann, warum IBM uns die Variante mit Websphere empfohlen hat.
Irgendwie haben die Bosse ja Recht. Warum kann man nicht die 8.5.2 Classic Meeting Server Variante einsetzen? Und wenn man das kann, was kann die mit Websphere besser?

P.S:
Einen Punkt noch. Kann der 8.52 Classic Meeting als Video Codec auch die H264 oder nur die H263+, wie der 8.02?

Lotus Sametime Media Manager supports two video codecs:
H264 - Also known as AVC and MPEG-4 part 10. It provides high quality, block-oriented, motion-compensation-based video codec for video conferencing. It supports the Baseline Profile without Flexible Macroblock Ordering (FMO).
H263 - A legacy codec and lower quality than H264.
Media Manager ist Websphere basierend.
Most of the promotional materials and discussions which have occurred over the past two years have shown screenshots of the new Sametime 8.5 meetings experience built on IBM WebSphere technology. If you are not ready to make the jump, the older version of the Sametime Meeting server is still available. This version is now referred to as Sametime Classic and contains both the Sametime Community and Meeting server. The Sametime Classic Meeting server has not undergone any major enhancements, however does contain bug fixes. Companies running Sametime Classic on AIX, Linux and Solaris will see major improvements in the stability of the Meeting Room client when application sharing.

Hallo,
Martin war damals schneller... habe aber danach noch zwei andere Quellen gefunden - die Präsentation vom AdminCamp 2011 (http://www.admincamp.de/AdminCamp/Track4Session1) und die Präsentation von der LS2009 "Sametime Meeting under the hood". Die Präsentationen der LS wurden die letzten Jahre während der LS als PDF bereitgestellt. Einen aktuellen Link konnte ich nicht finden...
