I try to use the Document Preview option from the View menu ! I want to use this everytime .... so after I close the database this option isn't saved ! Is it any possibility from Client to keep this always ?

what about using @Command( [ShowHidePreviewPane]) in the PostOpen event of your view or folder ?

I know... but I want this as a user (Notes Client) not as a designer (Notes Designer) !

... i did it with a profile-document. In the Queryopen of the View I load it with @GetProfileField("ProfilForm"; "FieldName" ; "User")
@If(@GetProfileField("ProfilForm"; "FieldName" ; "User") ;@Command( [ShowHidePreviewPane]) ; "")

also for the designer.... suppose I had installed just the Notes client and I use just the mail db ! How can I achive my goal ? (to save this setting wiht doc preview)

I'm afraid this is an dead end Street for you; without accessing the desing of even the inbox folder you'll have no chance.

There's no way to do what you want to in Notes R5, I'm afraid.
In R5 you can have just one of these start-up options: "Use designated Frameset" OR "restore as lasted viewed by user".
If you change to the latter (you can do that using the Client only), you loose the framseset and start with a R4 like list of views instead of the R5 outline. But Notes will remember the status of the preview pane.
If you leave the startup option as it is, opening the frameset overwrites all changes made by the user. Includng the status of the preview pane.
However, R6 offers the beauty of both options together ...

Honestly, until now I do love R6. Looks just great to me and fullfills many of a notes developers dreams.

In fact, the gold release of R6 is already available for more than 3 weeks now.
To download the full version you have to be an IBM Businesspartner and you must create a Partnerworld for Software (http://www-100.ibm.com/partnerworld/software/pwswpub1.nsf) account. Only under these circumstances you can enter the Business Partner Zone Web site and proceed to the ESD section.
While I can neither confirm nor negate this from personal experience, it's been reported by others in this forum, that the trial versions remain fully functional after the 90 days trial period. It's just that your licence to use the software expires.
