Hi Gero,
was hast Du denn gemacht?
Problem
A Domino 5.x Administrator is unable to relay outbound SMTP mail from one Domino SMTP server (Server A) to another Domino SMTP server (Server B). Instead, the following error displays on Server A's console:
"Attempt to relay from <Server Name> rejected for policy reasons. Relays from host denied in your configuration."
The Configuration document for Server A is configured properly to use a relay in the "Relay host for messages leaving the local internet domain" field (of theRouter/SMTP and Basics tabs) and contains no restrictions in the Inbound Relays Controls section (of the Router/SMTP, Restrictions & Controls, and SMTP Inbound Controls tabs). Server B is also configured appropriately. Neither recreating Server A's Configuration document, nor creating a new replica copy of the Domino Directory resolves the issue. Why do attempts to relay SMTP messages from Server A to Server B fail?
Solution
Confirm that there is not an All Servers Configuration document in the Domino Directory that has settings that override the relay configuration in Server A's Configuration document.
In the above scenario, an All Servers Configuration document with anti-relay settings in the Inbound Relay Controls section was overriding the relay configuration in Server A's Configuration document. Removing the anti-relay settings in the All Servers Configuration document, and then reloading Router on Server A enabled SMTP messages to be relayed successfully to Server B.
