"Error Accessing Product Object Method" after Dragging Appt or Reminder in R5 Calendar

Problem:

While using the Calendaring & Scheduling feature of Notes 5.x Client and Domino 5.x Server, a customer drags a Calendar entry, such as an Appointment or Reminder to a new time in the Calendar, and the Propose Time dialog box opens. This shouldn't happen at all for normal Appointments or Reminders.  After the customer selects a new time and selects OK, the following error message occurs:

"Error accessing product object method"

When opening the Calendar entry in question, it looks like a meeting Invitation though it never has been an invitation.

Solution:

In this case the contents of the fields, PRINCIPAL and CHAIR, in the Calendar entry differed from the Notes name of the mail file owner.  This issue can occur when the Notes Administrator has changed the customer's user name but the AdminP process has not replaced the old user name with the new name in PRINCIPAL and CHAIR, whereas the mail file owner field in the Mail Preferences has been populated with the new user name.

This issue has been reported to Lotus Quality Engineering.  The problem can be resolved by writing the new Notes name into the PRINCIPAL and CHAIR fields using an agent.

In Domino 5.0.5, when a user's name is changed using the AdminP process, the following fields are updated in existing meeting documents (for meetings that are scheduled for a future date): CHAIR, $Busyname, and Principal.  AdminP also updates the mail file owner field.  (Note:  A name change includes moving a user in the organizational hierarchy as well as changing the common name.)
