Lotus Notes Traveler - Abschlussprojekt

Guten Tag,

bin Fachinformatiker im 3. Lehrjahr, mein Abschlussprojekt ist es einen Lotus Notes Traveler Server aufzusetzen und in Betrieb zu nehmen.

Habe nun schon in der Traveler Doku einige wichtige Punkte entdeckt.

Folgende Frage stellt sich mir noch:
Vorhanden haben wir einen Lotus Notes Domino Server V.6.5 dieser steht extern, deswegen kein Zugriff/ bzw. Installation auf diesem.
Nun habe ich vor einen Domino Server 8.5 aufzusetzen und hier den Traveler Service installieren.
Soweit so gut denke ich mal. Nur wie bringe ich dem 8.5 Domino Server bei, dass er die Mails vom externen 6.5 Dominoserver erhält, damit diese mit dem Traveler abgefragt werden können?

Ist das überhaupt richtig so, oder habe ich einen Denkfehler?

Würde mich sehr über Antworten freuen!

Wenn der Traveler Server die names.nsf des ersten Servers hat, dann weiss er von ganz alleine, wo er die daten fiindet

@Michael: Nein! Bitte nicht! Traveler greift direkt auf die Mailserver zu, da braucht man keine Konstrukte wie bei iNotes.

@Mike: Du willst dieses Setup (auf keinen Fall den 8.5er Domino in der Domain mit den 6ern aufsetzten!

On the remote mail server, open the server configuration document, click the Security tab, and verify that this server is not restricted in the Server Access section.
    * The Lotus Notes Traveler service queries the Domino directory service whenever mobile users register with or connect to the Lotus Notes Traveler server. The Domino directory must return the home mail server and the mail file path name for each user that registers with the Lotus Notes Traveler server. If the Lotus Notes Traveler server is in the same domain as the mail users, then typically the local names.nsf is already populated with person records for each user and this information is available by default. However, if the users are in other domains, then you must either configure Domino directory assistance to find these other users or otherwise ensure that their person records are available in the local names.nsf.
    * If you plan on implementing mobile security policies, use Lotus Notes Traveler default settings to define security policies. See Default device preferences and security settings). Use these settings instead of Lotus Notes Traveler settings that are part of the Domino admin policy setup. Otherwise you must define the Lotus Notes Traveler settings separately in every different Domino domain for them to work correctly. If you are using Lotus Notes Traveler default settings, then these settings and security policies apply to any user that connects to the Lotus Notes Traveler server regardless of the Domino domain that the user belongs to. For more information, see Assigning device preferences and security settings to devices.

Das ging ja schnell,

also ist das alles kein Hexenwerk, im Prinzip benötigt der 8.5 Server dann nur die names.nsf des 6.5er Servers. Fertig aus?

Oh sorry da kam ja noch ein Beitrag hinzu:

Der Alte Domino 6.5 Server wird auf 8.5 geupdatet, dies dauert allerdings noch ca. 3 Wochen. Solang möchte ich nicht warten, weil ich dann glaube ich nicht mit der Zeit hinkomme.
Wobei naja 2 Wochen hätte ich dann um den Traveler aufzusetzen und zu konfigurieren,
sowie Dokumentation schreiben und Präsentation fertigstellen. Geht eigentlich.

Macht das einen großen Unterschied???
