Problem
iNotes Web Access users attempt to change their internet passwords and receive the following warning:
"There has been an error while processing. Please check if your new password was processed properly.
Password change process aborted. Password was NOT changed."
Why does this message display when you attempt to change your internet passwords in iNotes Web Access?
Solution
This error displays when users do not have the proper access to the server address book. iNotes Web Access users need to have Author access to their Person Document in the server address book. The Maximum Internet Name & Password for the server Address Book should be set to at least Author access.
The Maximum Internet Name & Password option is located on the Advanced Tab of the Access Control List dialog box.
Additionally, to change an internet password, an iNotes for Web Access user must the owner of the mail file, have Designer or Manager access to the mail file, and have Maximum Internet Name & Password for the mail file set to at least Editor access.
It has also been reported that this error can also occur if the user is not listed as the owner on the Administration tab of their Person document on the Address Book
