Problem
In Domino 5.x, it has been found that improperly addressed SMTP mail can return a Delivery Failure Report with the following cryptic error message:
"Enhanced Mail System Status Code (RFC1893): .1.2"
This message is confusing to users and does not explain why the mail message failed.
Solution
This issue was reported to Lotus Software Quality Engineering and has been addressed in Domino 6.0. There are currently no plans to address this issue in Notes/Domino R5.
