Attachments in MIME Message Are Renamed When Forwarded and Cannot Be Launched in Notes 5.0.1/5.0.1a
Problem:
If a message is in MIME format, the attachment is renamed when the message is forwarded by the Notes client. When the message is received, the attachment has been renamed (for example, to ATTI3POH).
The attachment can be viewed, but not launched anymore. The following error displays:
"Sorry, an application to open this document cannot be found."
This error does not occur in Notes versions prior to 5.0.1.
Solution:
The attachment can be viewed, but cannot be launched, as it has been renamed. Also, the attachment can be detached, renamed on detachment, and then launched.
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in Notes 5.0.2.

Supporting Information:
The "Format preference for incoming mail" in the Person document determines how the format of incoming messages is handled by the router. Note that the No Preference setting also manifests this problem if the sender has sent it as a MIME encoded message.
