How can you rename a room or resource in the Resource Reservations database (Resource.nsf) for Notes/Domino Calendaring & Scheduling?
Solution:
The only information in an existing resource that can be changed is the Available Times and Other comments. If you wish to change any other information in a resource such as the name, you must delete the resource, and a create a new resource in its place.
To delete the resource/room document, open it in Read mode in the Resources view of the Resource Reservations database, and then click the Delete Resource action button or select Actions, Delete Resource from the menu. Do NOT USE the DELETE key. It is crucial that you use the Delete Resource action, as this tells the Administration Process to remove the resource from the Public Name & Address Book (NAB).
When you delete a resource from the Resource Reservations database, a request is submitted to the Administration Requests database on your server. In order for this request to be submitted, you need to have Author access and "Create documents" rights in the Access Control List (ACL) of the Administration Requests database. The administrator of your 4.5x/4.6x Public NAB or 5.x Domino Directory will approve the request and the resource will be deleted.
