What is the difference between a maintenance release (MR) and a quarterly maintenance release (QMR)?

A: In April 2001, Lotus made a change to the Notes/Domino maintenance strategy, moving from a three month development cycle to a four month development cycle. Since the "quarterly" in quarterly maintenance release no longer applied, the process was renamed maintenance release or MR. Releases are now approximately 120 days apart. This new schedule allows the development and quality engineering test teams more time to focus on quality assurance and client/server reliability. Lotus has now allocated an additional week for development within the cycle, and the other three additional weeks are dedicated to product testing.

Ein neues Feature Release war z.B. der Sprung von 6.0x auf 6.5 und dann eben zukünftig wieder auf 7.0 usw....
