Wie dumm muss man eigentlich sein ??

Ich: Was für eine Information

User: Ach so - ja da steht Sicherheitsalarm

Ich: Na dann lesen Sie mal vor (hör hör) - OK bestätigen Sie bitte Vertrauenswürdig

User: das hab schon 20 mal gemacht und das geht einfach nicht weg

Ich: OK - ich schalte mich jetzt bei Ihnen Remote auf

User: OK (User brummelt im Hintergrund "warum geht das nicht weg ?)

Ich: Remote drauf und (soviele unterschiedliche Smileys gibts leider nicht) bald in den Monitor gebissen vor lachen

Ich: User höflich informiert was das ist - nämlich:

Wir haben im März rezertifiziert und mein Kollege hat ne kleine Doku mit möglichen Meldungen incl. Hardcopys Bundesweit verteilt.

 ;D  ;D  ;D Ich glaube die würde heute noch auf dem Hardcopy rumklicken bis die Mouse durchgewetzt wäre

Es war vermutlich nur ein Versehen, aber bei meinem alten Arbeitgeber habe ich mal bei ner Kollegin TippEx auf dem Monitor gefunden. Auf den ersten Blick kommen einem da schon Gedanken hoch... ;-)

unten eine Aussensicht von einem 40+ Jahre alten Amerikaners mit deutschen Einwanderereltern, der ein paar Monate in Deutschland gearbeitet hat. Es ist keineswegs spektakulär, aber irgendwie stimmte mich das damals doch sehr nachdenklich.

Mein subjektiver Eindruck ist, daß viele hier einen "Feldherrenhügel-Komplex" haben und damit auch noch durchkommen. Irgendwie Manager werden und sich nicht die Hände "dreckig" machen. Inwieweit man mit der eigenen Inkompetenz seine Umgebung belastet ist egal. Ich hatte immer wieder und habe jetzt wieder eine Projektmanagementrolle (ohne das ich dadurch reich geworden wäre). Das heißt aber nicht, daß ich aufhören würde zu coden. Sonst wüßte ich auch nicht, wie ich an architektur-, designmässigen oder konzeptionellen Dingen, irgendetwas konstruktives beitragen könnte.
 
Schlimm finde ich diese ständigen Diskussionssendungen im Fernsehen mit Christiansen, Maischberger, etc. pp. Die boykottiere ich inzwischen vollständig. Dieses Land soll einfach mal für ein paar Monate die Klappe halten. Gilt gerade für so eitle Simplifizierer wie Olav Henkel.

The design staff was exclusively German/Austrian/French. Implementation seemed to be regarded as a non-professional activity and coders were of low rank in the company order.

The suggestions made by implementors and subject matter experts were often completely ignored, and the 6 week summer vacation break caused the most amazing schedule disruption, with one set of designers and managers going on their six-week holiday to be replaced by another team returning from their holiday. There was no hand-over and no warning to the other members of the team (such as myself and my colleagues).

The Germans were polite most of the time, but our low status within the Alcatel heirarchy was made clear on a number of occasions.

One story I have concerned an analog telephone line. We required dial-up access to the internet to recieve email and to peruse our company intranet, but Alcatel's PBX system would not support this. We began by doing it from our hotel rooms, but this was like burning money by the sheaf, which was blowing a hole in the expense budget. Therefore Alcatel ordered analog lines put in (a 4 week wait) and in the meantime we were told to use a line which the fax line used (in another building). That line would simply not work. Remember that this worked fine at the hotel, so the problem isn't with our equipment. I reported this fact to the project manager, and his reply was extraordinary. He said that Deutsch Telecom had installed the fax line, and DT simply did not make mistakes like that. Therefore I was mistaken. And no, he would not walk over with me to the other building for a demonstration. The line worked, I was mistaken, and the case was closed. !!!!

We continued to burn money until DT got around to installing the analog lines....

It is possible that this may not have been a 'German' thing but possibly a 'Swabian' thing (Stuttgart is in the state of Baden-Wurtembuurg aka 'Swabia'). I have heard other Germans muitter about Swabians! Or it may be an Alcatel thing, or some combination of the above.

If I were offered a position in Germany I would make the most careful investigations about what kind of organization I was joining and what status I would have. I would certainly wish to meet the manager I would be reporting to before agreeing to terms!

Das fängt im ganz kleinen Kreis an (siehe Ehescheidungen, Kindererziehung und damit einhergehend das Auftreten der "lieben Kleinen" in der Schule usw.), das finden wir auch hier im Forum (den folgenden Thread - nur so als Beispiel - muß man sich mal auf der Zunge zergehen lassen:

Danke ? Kennt ICH nicht. Hat zwar selber keine Ahnung, aber ICH ist nicht daran schuld.
Und das geht weiter bis ganz nach oben: "Reformpolitik"? Das ich nicht lache ! Ist nicht zu machen mit den Ansammlungen von ICHs, die auch in der Gruppe nicht zum "wir" werden (Lobbyismus, Machterhalt etc.)
Zurück zum Forum: Ein Lichtblick (und es gibt auch ausserhalb unserer Arbeitswelt andere Lichtblicke ;-)  denn die ICHs sind nicht in der Mehrheit.
Und ich denke schon: ICHs muß man - nach Möglichkeit - die Meinung sagen und nicht über alles resignierend hinweggehen. Denn WIR alle sind daran schuld, daß die ICHs eine bestimmende Rolle einnehmen konnten.

@Axel Janssen: US-Bürger sind - verallgemeinernd gesehen - aber nicht gerade ein gutes Beispiel ... Die haben ja sogar im "WIR" ein ICH verinnerlicht, was mittlerweile eine Bedrohung des ganzen Planeten darstellt (Irak, Kyoto-Protokoll, Internationaler Gerichtshof, "Wahlen", Kriegsdrohungen an Syrien und Irak, SmallTalk als bestimmende Konversationsform usw. usf.)
