In Windows 2000, the temp files that are created when you attempt to forward an attachment are not always deleted. This creates a file lock which does not allow you to forward another attachment until these files are deleted. First, close your Lotus Notes client. Open Windows Explorer and search for a folder entitled, "c.lotus.notes.data" (if you used the default installation path). Delete this folder and its contents. Usually this folder is in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp. The reason I recommend searching for this folder is because your user may have a number of different user folders in the Documents and Settings folder. This should resolve the issue. I am not sure why this temp folder is not deleted on certain occasions. It may result from improper shutdown of the Windows 2000 operating system or may be a Lotus Notes problem.
