Bin am Verzweifeln: UseNotesTimeZone in Configurations NOTES.INI

Folgendes Problem:
Nach der Installation der Notes Client Software (6.02 CF1 dt. auf Windows XP, lokale Installation) passe ich die NOTES.INI wie folgt an:

Am Ende ist auch eine Leerzeile.
Wenn ich nun den Notes Client für die Installation starte, startet jedesmal der NSD und bricht die Konfiguration ab. Wird der Eintrag für UseNotesTimeZone auskommentiert, läuft alles normal ab (die Config.TXT-Geschichte ist echt toll!).
Kennt jemand das Problem und hat eventuell bereits eine Lösung dafür?

Hi,
ich denke, diese (in R5 undokumentierte, non supported) INI-Variable gibt es für R6 Clients nicht.
Meiner Meinung nach sollte für Clients die Einstellung "Uhrzeit vom Betriebssystem übernehmen" eingestellt werden. Dann kann man sich die ganzen INI-Settings für DSTLaw etc. sparen.

Q: We have set up our servers and clients (all 13,000 of them) to have the UseNotesTimeZone=1 variable in the NOTES.INI files. This was the recommendation from Lotus when we explained we wished Notes R5 to remain DST ignorant.

Despite much research, I have yet to find the definitive answer as to what this setting is actually doing. Can you tell me?

Hallo Andreas,

natürlich gebe ich Dir Recht, dass normalerweise nicht mit dieser Variable gearbeitet werden soll, nur:

- bei der Migration von 4 auf 5 hat Lotus (Hotline sowie Fieldsupport) uns nahe gelegt, damit zu arbeiten (hat sich auch bewährt)

- die Herausnahme dieser Variable aus einer bestehenden Notes/Domino-Infrastruktur ist nicht ganz ohne (40 Server 11.000 Clients; unterschiedliche Installationsweisen am Client; Applikationen müssen entsprechend gecheckt und umgestellt werden, usw.); die Herausnahme ist aber geplant, sobald wir mit R 6 eine einheitliche Infrastrukur haben (v.a. bei den Clients)

- die Variable funktioniert ohne Probleme, wenn man sie nachträglich (nach erfolgter Konfiguration) in die NOTES.INI aufnimmt.
